AW26: Risky Business

Are you ready for some Risky Business?

To set the scene, we’re heading straight back to the 1980s, a decade that lived by one very simple rule: more is definitely more! Power suits meant business, shoulder pads reached new widths and coats came oversized or wrapped in fur. Fashion was becoming a statement, with women taking greater autonomy over how they dressed and the image they wanted to project.

Then came Risky Business. From oversized tailoring and preppy layers to that famous shirt moment, the film captured a more carefree approach to 80s dressing. It’s this contrast that inspired the collection, mixing structure with ease, playing with proportion and giving familiar classics a less serious side.

New Styles

Two new bag shapes enter the scene: the East/West Tote and the East/West Shoulder Bag. With their elongated proportions, both introduce a fresh silhouette to the collection, bringing a playful nod to the exaggerated shapes of the 80s.

Made using a combination of split leather and soft calf, there’s a playful balance between structure and softness. The split leather gives the handles and body their robust, structured character, while the soft calf gusset adds flexibility and movement.

As if a new silhouette wasn’t enough, the designers have gone one step further with the introduction of hair on hide. Unlike traditional leather, the natural hair is left on the hide, creating a soft, tactile finish with its own unique character. The texture gives a nod to the statement fur coats of the 80s, bringing something a little unexpected to the East/West silhouette. And for those in the mood for something more daring, it also makes an appearance on our classic Mini Satchel.

Bold Colours

Following the collection’s bold and unapologetic spirit, the colour palette is all about contrast. First up, True Blue, a new shade and a statement all by itself. Then come the classics, Black and rich Oxblood, followed by a crisp Cotton White.

And just when you thought that was enough, Drop 2 is waiting in the wings. Expect a punchy lime green alongside a bold houndstooth tartan, turning up the volume with even more colour, pattern and personality. Consider this your little preview of what’s still to come…

Together, they form one collection, but each has its own character, personality and statement to make. After all, this is the 80s we’re talking about. Subtle was never really the point!

So, with that said… consider this our invitation to power dress, play with proportion and embrace a little risky business of your own!
